Adelina “Lile” Olympia Pulido, 86, joined her husband Jose “Chune” Pulido, Sr. in heaven on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 11:34 PM from her residence in Edinburg. She was born on Sunday, March 20, 1932 in Edinburg, Texas to Gonzalo Guerra and Porfiria Gomez Guerra. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Jose “Chune” Pulido, Sr., grandson; Jose “Joey” Pulido, III, great-grandson; Jaime James Pulido and brothers; Lazaro Guerra, Leonel Guerra and Luz Guerra.
Lile is survived by her sons; Jose Roberto (Diana) Pulido, Jose (Melva) Pulido, Jr., Jose Eloy (Mari) Pulido, Jose Joel “Gordo” (Cynthia) Pulido, Sr., and Jose Roel “Flaco” (Delma) Pulido, brothers; Gonzalo Guerra, Lisandro Guerra and Rene Guerra, sister; Maria Gomez Balderaz, 17 – grandchildren, 18 – great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and lived in Edinburg all of her life. She worked for the Edinburg Consolidated School District for over 35 years until her retirement. She was a loving, caring and humble woman who always did for others first. She was an exemplary woman who taught her children to respect everyone, treat everyone the same, and always work hard for what you want. She enjoyed making tamales, menudo, and always giving of herself. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched. The Pulido family would like to extend their utmost appreciation to Adela Torres for the never ending dedication and love she showed to our Mom; Lile. Because of their relationship, our Mom affectionately referred to her as a daughter. They would also like to say “Thank You” to Elsa Gutierrez, Hilda Flores and Elena Capetillo for all the love and care they gave to their mother.
The Pulido family will receive friends on Monday, September 17, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Catholic burial will follow to Palm Valley Memorial Gardens, 4607 North Sugar Road in Pharr. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Bobby Pulido, Mark Pulido, Danny Pulido, Joel Pulido, Jr., Aaron Pulido, Jaime Pulido, Adrian Pulido, and Joey Guzman. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
