Adelina Segovia, 79, entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born in Garceno, Texas on September 8, 1935 to Celestino and Librada Garcia Silva. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melecio Segovia; and sister, Teodora Moreno.
Left to cherish her memories are her children; Juan Angel (Linda) Segovia, Jose Arnulfo (Ana Isabel) Segovia, Adriana (Felimon) Gauna, Mirosalva (Isai) Garza, Faviola (Oscar) Delgado, Twins Angelica (Rene) Fuentes and Angelina (Antonio) Barbosa, Melisa (Martin) Miller, Amalia (Ron) Borntrager and Abigail (Roger) Halteman; brothers, Amado (Delia) Silva, Rogelio (Antonietta) Silva and Antonio (Amanda) Silva; sisters, Rosalva (Eduardo) Lopez and Amelida (Amaro) Guerra; brother-in-law, Arturo Moreno, 28 – grandchildren, 11 – great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Adelina lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of Iglesia Remanente de Israel. She enjoyed reading the bible and sharing the Gospel. She loved to travel, crochet, sew, gardening her plants and flowers, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but her legacy will continue through the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Her family will receive friends today, March 29, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Having the distinguish honor to serve as pallbearers will be her grandchildren Jesus Garza, Joshua Lee Fuentes, Keyana Gauna, Joseph Segovia, Oscar Delgado, Jr., Johnny Segovia, Ethan Miller and Tony Barbosa. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
