Agustin Garcia, 77, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. He was born on September 15, 1937 in San Isidro, Texas to Antonio Garcia and Genoveva Olivarez Garcia. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 – brothers and 2 – sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years; Araceli Garcia; son, Mario (Liza) Garcia; daughters, Maricela (Ricardo) Alaniz and Marissa Bocanegra; grandchildren, Yvonne (Ciro Tomas) A. Guerra, Cynthia Alaniz, Richard Alaniz, Benjamin Garcia and Jake Bocanegra; great grandchildren, Kevin Guerra, Jayden Guerra and Maddux Rodriguez; 2 – Brothers, 4 –sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Agustin worked at McAllen Independent School District until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family. He was a very humble man and hard worker. He will be missed by his family, but his legacy will continue through his family.
The Garcia Family received friends on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held today, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Benjamin Garcia, Richard Alaniz, Ricardo Alaniz, Mario Garcia, Tomas Guerra, Joel Garcia, Hector Garcia and Frank Garcia. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
