Alberto Davila, Jr.

Alberto Davila, Jr., 71, entered eternal rest on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Mid Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mercedes, TX. He was born on a Thursday, January 8, 1953 to Alberto Davila, Sr. and Maria Benita Hernandez Davila in El Tajoe Ranch, Edinburg, Texas in Hidalgo County. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Juan Davila; 3 sisters; Olivia Salinas, Bertha Sanchez and Yolanda Rodriguez.

Alberto is survived by his loving children; Edoardo Davila, Alberto Davila, III of Laredo, Texas and Alberto “Trey” Davila, III of Corpus Christi, Texas, 5 siblings; Hilda Mares, Ricardo H. Davila, Andrea Davila Taylor and Maria Norma Davila, 4 grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1973-1977. He was an electrician by trade but enjoyed the outdoors, such as fishing and dove hunting. His greatest joy in life was his family. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched.

The Davila family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Burial with Military honors under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #8788 of McAllen will follow at Valle de Paz in Hargill, Texas. Funeral services are under the direction of Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director/Manager of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
