Alfredo "Tio Freddy" Soliz, 71, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at South Texas Health System ER at Monte Cristo in Edinburg. He was born on Saturday, January 11, 1947 in Edinburg, Texas to Juan Soliz and Saturnina Castro Soliz. He is preceded in death by his parents, son; Juan Alfredo Soliz, son-in-law; Victor Salinas, brothers; Ignacio Soliz, Jesus Soliz, and Juan Soliz, sisters; Julia (Ben) Muniz, Guadalupe (Eusebio) Anzaldua, and Dominga Soliz.
Freddy is survived by his children; Erlinda Salinas, Alfredo Soliz, Javier Soliz, Hugo Soliz, Mirella Soliz and Martha Robledo, brother; Eustacio C. (Rosalia) Soliz,niece; Natalia (Hector) Gutierrez, nephew; Martin Hart, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Freddy lived in Edinburg all of his life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He worked all of his life in the family business; Soliz & Sons Trucking. He enjoyed fishing, drawing, collecting license plates and making bird houses, doing arts & crafts, woodwork. He also enjoyed watching the "Dallas Cowboys". He will be missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched.
The Soliz Family will receive friends today, Monday, July 23, 2018 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Alfredo Soliz, Juan Soliz, Martin Hart, Hector Gutierrez, Natalie Gutierrez and Mia Gutierrez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
