Alonzo Bernal, 50, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. He was born December 24, 1961 in Edinburg, TX to Francisco Bernal and Rafaela Carcano Bernal. He is preceded in death by his father.
Alonzo is survived by his wife of 25 years; Maria Concepcion Bernal, mother; Rafaela C. Bernal, daughter; Annabel Marie Bernal, brother; Francisco Bernal, Jr., sisters; Esperanza (Alfredo) Salinas, Yolanda Bernal, Marivel (Guadalupe) Salazar and Veronica (Ignacio) Serrato, numerous nieces and nephews.
Alonzo was a butcher who worked for many meat markets around the area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on his yard, but his greatest love of all was spending time while barbequing with his family and friends. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
The Bernal family will receive friends, today, December 18, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A Christian mass will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg, TX.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
