Anita Fragoso, 88, entered eternal rest on Monday, March 10, 2025 at her residence. Anita was born on a Friday, April 3, 1936 to Jeronimo Martinez and Amanda Tijerina Martinez in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandchildren, twins; Jennifer and Jeanette Vargas, grandson; Jaime Fragoso, sisters; Acencion De La Garza, Aracelia Alviar, Angelica Cardenas and Rose Lee Peralez; brother; Roberto Martinez, brother in laws; Eustacio De La Garza and Samuel Cardenas.
Anita is survived by her loving husband of 70 years; Julian Fragoso, Jr., children; Olivia F. (Rolando) Vargas, Ernestina Fragoso, Julian (Diana) Fragoso, III, Melva (Robert Rose) Fragoso, Rolando Fragoso and Martina (Natalio) Campos, sister in law; Adalia Martinez, brother in law; Hector Peralez, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Anita was a member of Valley Worship Center, which helped instill a great sense of faith which provided her with strength and belief in family unity and eternal salvation. Already a beautiful woman, she loved wearing jewelry and wearing makeup. But her greatest joy in life was taking care of her husband and family. She thrived in being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
The Fragoso family will receive friends on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Valley Worship Center, 4501 North McColl Road, McAllen, Texas. Christian service will begin at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Victoria Olivia Mercado, Veronika “Ronnie” Vargas, Stephanie Marie Rivera-Villalpando, Alfredo Rivera, Jr., Federico Jeziel Andrade, Julia Ann Andrade and Diamond Fragoso. Honorary pallbearers will be: Josiah Andrade and Nevaeh Fragoso. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
