Antonio Rocha, Jr., 93, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at McAllen Medical Center. He was born December 8, 1918 in San Benito, Texas to Antonio Rocha, Sr., and Maria Lucio Rocha. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife; Alicia Leal Rocha.
Left to cherish his memory is his son; Antonio (Sandra) Rocha, III, daughters; America (Antonio) Hernandez and Celeste (Mitch) Ladyman, sisters; Clara Gonzalez and Esther Serna, grandchildren; Mary Lou, Linda, Elisa, Ryan, Antonio IV and Daniel, great-grandchildren; Daniel Anthony and Jordyn.
Antonio was a World War II veteran who proudly served his country from 1941 – 1945 in Burma, India and China. At 93 years old he was still ready and willing to service his country again. As a laborer most of his life, his main purpose was to provide for his family. His hard work ethic and unstoppable energy has always been a great inspiration to his family. The family thanks everyone for their prayers and acts of kindness.
The Rocha family will receive friends today, August 23, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. A Christian service will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian burial with military honors will follow to Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas. Funeral services were entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
