OBITUARY
DATELINE: EDINBURG
Anival Rios, 88, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Arbor View Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Edinburg. He was born on February 14, 1925 in Edinburg to Arnulfo Rios and Teresa Saldana Rios. He is preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Gene Torres; brother, Ronaldo Rios and sisters, Angelica and Teresita Sanchez.
Left to cherish is memories are his wife of 38 years, Maria Elena Flores Rios; sons, Jose Duval Rios, Arnulfo “Arnold” (Nelda) Rios, Jr., Alberto Anival (Graciela) Rios, Ricardo (Mary) Rios, Ruben Rios; daugthers, Candelaria (Rolando) Munguia, Consuelo (Jason) Tankersley, Lydia (Gene) Patty and Cynthia Torres, 32 – grandchildren, 28 – great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rios proudly served in the United States Naval Reserve during W.W.II. He lived in Edinburg all of his life. He had a passion for farming and harvested grain, corn, cotton, watermelon and many other fruits and vegetables for many years. He also loved to go rabbit hunting and raised greyhounds. His greatest moments were spent with his children and grandchildren. He leaves a legacy through the lives of his family and will be missed by all those who knew him.
The Rios family will receive friends today, December 12, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers; Joshua Munguia, Jose Duval Rios, Jr., Robert Torres, Ricky Rios, James Rios and Javi Rios. Honorary pallbearers will be Savannah Burton, Adriel Rios and Arnulfo A. Rios, III. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
