Arthur Soto, 65, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Arbor View Rehabilitation Nursing Center in Edinburg. He was born April 1, 1946 in La Homa Ranch, Texas to Arturo H. Soto and Gregoria Mendez Soto. He is preceded in death by his father, son; David A. Soto, and sisters; Emma Soto and Sarita Garcia.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years; Modesta Rodriguez Soto, mother; Gregoria Soto, daughters; Eunice Addai Soto and Nelda M. (Arnold) Rios, brothers; Armando (Jane) Soto, Roberto (Sarah) Soto, Efrain (Elizabeth) Soto, Abimael (Debbie) Soto, Israel (Irene) Soto, and Hector (Ana) Soto, and sister; Delia Soto, grandchildren; Gabriel Garza, Jr., Kristen Garza, Alyson Mae Flores and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Soto proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Texas Employment Commission/ Texas Workforce Solution for 31 years until his retirement as Human Resources Supervisor. He recently worked for Apex Primary Care in Human Resources Department. He loved to cook and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will truly be missed by all of his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the staff of Solara Hospital in Edinburg and staff of Arbor View Rehabilitation Nursing Center in Edinburg.
The Soto family received friends Monday, October 10, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian services will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
