Aurora Arteaga, 96, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. She was born August 24, 2012 in Monterrey, MX to Encarnacion Torres, Sr., and Anita Vallecillo Torres.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Esteban Arteaga, brothers; Encarnacion Torres, Guadalupe Torres, Natividad Torres and Fidel Torres, sisters; Librada Torres, Victoria Torres and Juanita Torres, sisters-in-law; Emma Torres, Felicitas Torres, and brother-in-law; Esteban Arteaga.
Aurora is survived by her sons; Candelario Arteaga, Reynaldo (Margarita) Arteaga, and Rogelio (Roxane) Arteaga, daughter; Juanita (Albert) Theis, Librada is survived by her brothers; Teofilo Torres and Rodolfo (Tina) Torres,sister; Ancelma Partida, 11- grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Aurora was a member of the choir at the Basilica Church in San Juan and of the Resurrection Catholic Church choir in Alamo. Shw as a member of the Lady Auxiliary Post #408 Freddy Gonzalez. She loved to watch soccer games and novelas, but her greatest love of all was spending time with her grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
The Arteaga family will receive friends today, October 18, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A Christian Mass will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg, TX. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers; Branden Arteaga, Stevan Arteaga, Dustin Arteaga, Austin Arteaga and Michael Medrano. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
