AURORA C. TIJERINA
Edinburg — Aurora C. Tijerina, 86, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at McAllen Heart Hospital in McAllen. She was born in Reynosa on Tuesday, December 17, 1929 to Agustin Cantu and Manuela Cantu. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Eleazar Tijerina, Sr., son; Homer Tijerina, 2 – brothers and 2 – sisters.
Left to cherish her memories are her children; Elma (Gilbert, Jr.) Valadez, Rogelio (Norma) Tijerina and Eleazar (Diana) Tijerina, Jr., sisters; Esther and Leonor Tijerina, 7 – grandchildren, 16 – great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Aurora lived in Edinburg most of her life and enjoyed cooking, shopping, sewing quilts for her family and dancing. She also enjoyed spending time with her plants, especially picking chile del monte to make her salsa. She lived and enjoyed life to the fullest, her greatest moments were spending time with her family. She will be missed by her family and friends, but her memories will continue to be cherished by her family and all those whose lives she touched. The family would like to say “Thank You” to Mrs. Norma T. Martinez for the care provided to their mother.
Her family will receive friends today, Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Gilbert Valadez, III, Eddie Tijerina, Homer Tijerina, Orlando Tijerina, Russell Solis and Ryan Garza. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
