Bernardino Almeida Sr

Bernardino "Nino" Almeida, Sr., 62, entered eternal rest on Monday, July 10, 2017 at his residence in Edinburg with his family surrounding him. He was born on Friday, June 20, 1955 in Gto., Mexico to Enrrique Almeida and Crescencia Ibarra Almeida. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law; Lorenzo Garcia and Carlos Rodriguez. He lived in Edinburg most of his life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years; Irma Duran Almeida, sons; Bernardino (Veronica) Almeida, Jr., Juan Angel (Pamela) Almeida and Jose Antonio Almeida, daughters; Esmeralda (Hector) Ponce and Marisol (Noel) Trevino, brother; Pedro (Irma) Almedia, sisters; Elvira Garcia, Epifania (Jose) Sierra, Maria de Jesus (Mario) Orozco, Ernestina Almeida-Rodriguez, Josefina (Hugo) Deleon and Alicia Almeida, 13 - grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nino enjoyed dancing and singing, soccer and running, tending to his yard and garden, but most importantly he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a hard working gentleman who worked at Charlie's plumbing in the late 80's and early 90's. He will be truly missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched, but he will always be remembered for his strong will to live and his humbleness.
His family will receive friends today, Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Pedro Almeida, Hector Ponce, Noel Trevino, Avery Almeida, Juan Angel Almeida, Sr. and Juan Angel Almeida, Jr. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
