Bertha Perez Montemayor Cardenas, 91, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home in McAllen, Texas. She was born on Thursday, February 4, 1926 in San Juan, Texas to Rumaldo Perez and Maria Singleterry Perez. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Alejandro G. Cardenas, Sr. and Edmundo Montemayor, son; George Luis Cardenas, siblings; Amadeo Perez, Trinidad Rodriguez, Federico Perez, Apolinar Perez, Matias Perez, Elvira Salinas, and Raymundo Perez.
Left to cherish her memories are her children; Alejandro Gilberto Cardenas, II, Nelda (Jose Luis) Villarreal and Maria Alicia Kaposta, sister; Cristina Perez, 8 - grandchildren, 19 - great grandchildren, and 1 - great great grandson on the way.
Bertha enjoyed arts & crafts, decorating, sewing, gambling, and playing Bingo, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She instilled family values and respect to her children and family. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family will receive family and friends on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10:00 in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Services will conclude at funeral home. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
