Carlos Hugo De La Rosa

Carlos Hugo De La Rosa, 57, entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at his residence in Edinburg, Texas. He was born on a Sunday, August 13, 1967 in Edinburg, Texas to Carlos De La Rosa and Lydia Garcia De La Rosa. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving siblings; Sonia De La Rosa, Jesse (Deborah) De La Rosa and Yvette (Robert) Wilson, 3 nephews; John Paul De La Rosa, Matthew Thomas De La Rosa and Christopher David De La Rosa.

Carlos is a 1985 graduate of Edinburg High School in Edinburg, Texas. He had a career in law enforcement where he began working at the Hidalgo County Sheriff Department, Hidalgo County Juvenile Detention Center and ending his career working with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Manuel A. Segovia Unit. He enjoyed going to the library, learning and reading about military and history. He was involved in politics, enjoyed singing, watching movies and baseball. But his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. Carlos will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

The De La Rosa family will have a memorial mass honoring Carlos on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg.
