Carlos G. Perez passed away peacefully in Webster, Tx on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 after a long and difficult illness. Carlos was born on Wednesday, November 10, 1943 in a small farm house in La Feria, Tx. Carlos spent the early years of his life in the Edinburg, Tx area.
In the summer of 1961 Carlos met the love of his life, Aurora Gonzales, while attending summer school in Mercedes, Tx. By February of 1962 Carlos had married Aurora and together they spent 56 years together. During that time, Carlos and Aurora raised their sons; Carlos Jr., (Alicia), Cristobal (Melinda), Joseph (Lynn), Craig (Estella), and daughter Cindy (Brian).
Carlos is also survived by his grandchildren; Jesus Rodrigo, Lucas, Daniel Anthony, Thomas Andre, Paula Lorena, Cristobal II, Sofia Marlen, Liberty Polito, Craig Alejandro, Cassandra Maria, Edward Fabian, and Zebrina Paige along with great-grandchildren; Antonio Jesus and Logan Matthew. Carlos is survived by his sisters; Maria (Andres), Ramona (Antonio), and Sofia (Adrian). Carlos is preceded in death by his daughter; Connie Eulalia and parents; Guadalupe and Maria.
During his lifetime, Carlos worked as a seismograph team leader (Chevron), ichthyologist (TP&W), retired production welder (Abex/Illinois Central), and finally retired as a corrections officer (TDCJ) in Beeville, Tx. Carlos was an advocate of higher education and while working as a welder earned his associates degree in metallurgy from Prairie State College, Chicago Heights, Il. Carlos was very proud knowing that all his children attained degrees in higher education and have led successful and productive lives. Carlos asked that no viewing or funeral services be held. As per his request, his remains will be cremated and interned at a private family service. Carlos was always heard encouraging children to get a higher education. Anyone wishing to honor Carlos’ memory is encouraged to give a donation to an institute of higher education or a first responder group (police, fire, EMT) in your area. Funeral services were entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, Tx.
