Concepcion Herrera De La Cruz

Concepcion Herrera De La Cruz, 89, peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Windsor-NRC of Edinburg. She was born on a Friday, December 13, 1935 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Reynaldo Herrera and Sofia De Leon Herrera. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Evaristo De La Cruz, brothers; Gumaro Herrera and Esequiel Herrera and 1 sister; Eudelia Vale.

She is survived by her loving children; Gustavo (Anna) De La Cruz, Sandra (Armando) De Leon, Elizabeth (Jim Shirk) Garza, Linda De La Cruz, Ricardo (Priscilla) De La Cruz and Noelia (Joe) Rodriguez, siblings; Dora Moreno, Daniel Herrera, Sofia Castilla and Hermelinda Romeros, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great, great granddaughter as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Concepcion enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking, her specialty was making pan de polvo. However spending loving, quality time with her family was her most important and favorite thing to do, especially being able to spend enjoyable time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

The De La Cruz family will receive friends on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 East Champion Street in Edinburg, Burial to follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas. Having the honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Samuel De Leon, David De Leon, Adrian De La Cruz, Israel De La Cruz, Ismael Canizales and Ruben Castilla, Jr. Funeral services were entrusted to Johnny Garcia and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
