Daniel L. Martinez, 79, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Amarillo, Texas. He was born on August 16, 1931 in Edinburg, Texas to Hipolito Martinez and Delfina Lopez-Martinez.
Mr. Martinez is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Inocencio “Chencho” Martinez, Domingo Martinez, and Eugenio Martinez.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Marcelina Chavez, sons; Alejandro (Rosemary) Martinez, Roberto (Sylvia) Martinez, Leonel (Nancy) Martinez, daughters; Elodia (Salvador) Moncayo, Irma Ortiz, Diana Martinez, Becky Martinez, Dalia (David) Alfaro, brothers; Ruben Martinez, Rogelio Martinez, sisters; Juanita Mata, Nena Vigil, Santos Prado, Angelica Vela, 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He will truly be missed by all his family friends and all those whose lives he touched.
The Martinez Family received friends on Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeal Home in Edinburg. Chapel services were held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Christian burial followed to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg, Texas. Funeral services were entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
