David V. Rodriguez, 81, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Solara Hospital in McAllen, TX. He was born April 29, 1931 in Robstown, Texas to Manuel Rodriguez and Maria Vasquez Rodriguez.
Mr. Rodriguez is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Rev. Israel Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez, and sister; Aurora Rodriguez.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years; Janie Estevis Rodriguez of Edinburg, sons; David (Selene) Rodriguez, Jr., of McAllen and David A. (Maggie) Rodriguez of Robstown, daughters; Diana Rodriguez of Arlington, Virginia, and Dalia Rodriguez of Edinburg, 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rodriguez worked for Halliburton Baroid for 20 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting , but his greatest pastime was playing cards and dominos with his cousins at the ranch.
The Rodriguez Family will receive friends today, Friday, March 22, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A Christian Mass will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
