Domingo Salinas, 73, entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 20, 2014 in Edinburg, TX. He was born March 16, 1941 in Edinburg to Epimenio Salinas and Ines Castaneda Salinas. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Epimenio Salinas, brothers; Genaro Salinas I, Genaro Salinas, II, Juan Salinas; sisters, Romana Ortega, Nena Salinas; brothers-in-law, Antonio Ortega, Jacinto Suarez and Arturo Castro.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Juanita Avila Salinas; children, Elsa (Ramiro, Sr.) Salinas-Palacios, Domingo (Rita) Salinas, Jr., Hilda Salinas, Romana (Eddie) Tobias, Arturo (Belinda) Avila, Rosa (Jose Luis) Limon; sisters, Francisca Suarez and Guadalupe Castro; brothers, Donato (Francisca) Salinas, Sr., Albino (Ernestina) Salinas, Lalo (Olivia) Salinas, Epimenio (Angelita) Salinas, Jr., Arturo Salinas, Rodolfo Salinas and Alfredo (Esperanza) Salinas; brother-in-law, Mariano Garza; sisters-in-law, Maria and Jolanda Salinas, 17 – Grandchildren and 12 – Great Grandchildren.
Domingo worked for Mcallen Ice Company for over 25 years until his retirement. He loved spending time with his family and was a Dallas Cowboy Fan. He will truly be missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
His family will receive friends today, Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 215 North 16th Avenue in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Domingo Salinas, Jr., Christian Jesus Salinas, Domingo Salinas, III, Arturo Avila, Arturo Luna, Jr. and Donato Salinas, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Donato Salinas, Sr., Epimenio Salinas, Jr. and Ramiro Palacios, Sr. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
