Eduardo “Lalo” or “Ed” G. Bazan, Sr., 89, entered eternal rest on May 5, 2010 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. He was born September 12, 1920 in Raymondville, Texas to Jose Bazan and Feliciana Garza.
Eduardo dedicated much of his time to his ranch. He loved farming and ranching, but his greatest love was spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Maria G. Bazan, son; Eduardo Bazan, Jr., sisters; Maria Ignacia Bazan, and Elivoria Bazan.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons; Esteban Javier (Amelia) Bazan, Rudy (Mariola) Bazan; daughter; Imelda Alicia (Oscar, Jr.) Garza; grandchildren; Jose Ed Bazan, Lucas W. Bazan, Steven Bazan, Michael Bazan, Rudy Bazan, Oscar L. Garza III, Brenda Gayle Salazar, Marla Jean Bazan; and one great-grandson; Julian Jose Salazar.
Family received friends Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian mass will be held today, May 7, 010 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Hargill. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Lucas Bazan, Steven Bazan, Rudy Bazan, Oscar L. Garza, III, Michael Bazan, Efrain Garza, Jaime Salazar and Manny Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers include Joe Ed Bazan, Oscar Wyatt, Jr., Brad Wyatt, Oscar L. Garza, Jr., and Tali Sanchez. Christian burial will follow to Jesus Maria Ranch Cemetery in Hargill, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
