Elida G. Garza, 85, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born November 6, 1925 in Los Herreras, N.L., Mexico to Natividad Garza and Isabel Perez Garza.
Elida is preceded in death by her parents, and husband; Alonzo Garza, Sr.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Albertico Garza, Alonzo (Nora) Garza, Jr., daughter; Delia Sanchez, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Elida loved crocheting and sewing, collecting ducks, and shopping for shoes and purses. She was a “Pack Rat”. She also loved to talk on the phone and dine at Luby’s where she usually ate her favorite; fish, macaroni and mashed potatoes. She was a great mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
The Garza Family will receive friends today, September 1, 2011 and Friday, September 2, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Having the honor to serve as pallbearers will be Alonzo Rolando Garza, Daniel Garza, Alberto Roman Garza, Ivan Sanchez, Albert Sanchez and Sergio Sanchez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
