Elpidio Cruz, 86, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg, Texas. He was born on a Wednesday, November 16, 1938 in La Hacienda, General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Guadalupe Cruz and Francisca Perez Cruz. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Emilia Cruz, son; Javier Cruz, 1 brother and 1 sister.
He is survived by his Mary (Enrique) Cavazos, Jose Elpidio (Adriana) Cruz, Jose Arturo Cruz, Evelyn (Raaveesh) Bally, Gladie Cruz, Jose Francisco (Amie) Cruz and Bonnie (Leonel Garcia) Cruz, 25 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He loved the outdoors, farming and ranching, raising chickens, cattle and goats, He especially loved his family. Spending time with his children and grandchildren. Elpidio will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched.
The Cruz family will receive friends on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Frankie Cruz, Oscar Garcia, Enrique Cavazos, III, Jose Gutierrez, Nathan Cruz, Joseph Cruz and Javier Cruz. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
