Emilia Martinez, 72, entered eternal rest on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. She was born on a Sunday, May 8, 1949 in Cedral, San Luis Potosi to Juan Cordova and Catalina Obregon Cordova. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Francisco Martinez, brothers; Jesus Cordova Obregon, Basilio Cordova Obregon, and Sergio Cordova Obregon and sister; Virginia Cordova Obregon.
Emilia is survived by her sons; Rolando (Margot) Anaya and Marcos Antonio (Lisa Escobedo) Anaya, grandchildren; Joshua, Matthew, Anthony, Emily, Michael, Kristina, Marcus and Marisa Anaya, great granddaughter; Adalynn Anaya, brothers; Antonio Cordova Obregon and Adolfo Cordova Obregon, sisters; Juan Maria Cordova Obregon and Ofelia Cordova Obregon, numerous nieces and nephews.
Emilia lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She worked as a certified nurse's assistant for many years. She enjoyed attending to her plants and cooking for her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her sons and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a talk at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
