Encarnacion “Chon” Pardo, 85, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. He was born on a Wednesday, April 29, 1936 in Edinburg, Texas to Encarnacion Pardo, Sr. and Catalina Beltran Pardo. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Cedalia Zarate Pardo, son; Daniel “Danny” Pardo, brother; Leocadio Pardo, sisters; Maria Gonzales and Fermina “Mina” Santos.
He was a devoted and beloved husband of 50 years to the late Cedalia Z. Pardo until her passing in 2011. Chon is survived by his loving children; Celine (Raul Salinas) Pardo, Joanna (Juan, Jr.) Martinez and Rick Pardo, grandchildren; Victor Reyna, III, Levi Pardo, Nicholas Martinez, Jared E. Pardo, Ryan Pardo, Dimitri Pardo and Barbara Barrientos, great grandchildren; Lauren Alex Reyna, Kristopher Conner Reyna and Elena Pardo, siblings; Petra Salinas, Jose Pardo, Sister Mary Pardo and Florentina “Tina” Pardo, numerous nieces and nephews.
He lived in Edinburg all of his life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. As a young man he proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1958-1962. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed watching sports of all kind, especially football, tennis, boxing and baseball. He was a tremendous husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed.
The Pardo family will receive friends on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg, Texas. Catholic Mass will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn in Edinburg, Texas. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 E Richardson Road in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
