Enrique “Henry” Ramirez, Jr., 72, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Odyssey House in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on October 6, 1938 in Santa Elena, Texas to Enrique Ramirez and Dora Contreras Ramirez. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother; Rolando Ramirez and sisters; Elsa Elizondo and Elia Garza.
He is survived by his sons; Jon Henry Ramirez, Roldan Ramirez, mother of his sons; Mary Louise Garza, brothers; Romeo (Tina) Ramirez, Raul (Mary) Ramirez, sisters; Evie Requenez, Elda (Frank) Alvarado, brothers-in-law; Eutiquio Elizondo and Simon Garza, sister-in-law; Maria Ramirez, numerous nieces and nephews.
He lived in Delmita, Texas most of his life and was a member of Lino Hinojosa V.F.W. Post # 9303. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved to go to the casinos, enjoyed playing cards and dice, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will truly be missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Frank and Grace Renaud for always being there and for all of the support they showed the family, it was greatly appreciated.
The family will receive friends today, April 10, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at San Isidro Catholic Church in San Isidro, Texas. Christian burial will follow to Contreras Family Cemetery in Santa Elena, Texas. Having the distinguish honor to serve as pallbearers; Linie Alvarado, Paulino Alvarado, Chale Cruz, Eloy Silva, Noe Rodriguez and Frank Renaud. Honorary pallbearers; Romeo Ramirez, Raul Ramirez, Simon Garza, Frank Alvarado and Eutiquio Elizondo. Military honors will be under the auspices of V.F.W. Post # 8526 of Rio Grande City, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
