Epifanio "Cuate/Shorty" Munoz, 83, entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at McAllen Nursing Center. He was born on Sunday, April 7, 1935 in Edinburg, Texas to Bruno Munoz and Aurora Flores. He is preceded in death by his parents, first and second wife; Juanita G. Munoz and Rebecca Munoz, twin brother; Erasmo Munoz, brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish his memories are his son; Erasmo "Russ" (Sarah Marie Sanchez) Munoz, daughter; Norma Linda (Ramiro) Zamora, brother; Leocadio "Doque" (Epifiana) Munoz, 3 grandchilren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Shorty proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He spent most of his life working as a tire maintenance for Shamrock, Montgomery Ward, HUB City, and 76 Truck Stop. He even worked for a while with Risca & Sons installing glass. He was a good handyman who enjoyed helping others. He will be missed by his family and those whose lives he touched.
His family will receive friends today, Friday, July 13, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Military honors will be under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #8788 of McAllen, Texas at 2:00 PM at the Rio Grande State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 South Inspiration Road, Mission, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Erasmo "Russ" Munoz, Samantha Salinas, Johnny Salinas, Daren Balderas, Rudy Perez, and Esteban Perez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg.
