EDINBURG — Eric Allen Davila, 20, entered eternal rest on Friday, March 7, 2014 in Edinburg. He was born on February 24, 1994 in Edinburg, Texas to Mauro Davila and Roberta Linares Davila.
Eric is survived by his parents; brothers, Jacob, Noah and Adam Davila; sisters, Sarah and Emily Davila; paternal grandparents, Pedro and Diana Davila; maternal grandparents, Robert and Thelma Linares; best friends, Anthony De La Vina, Luciano Peralta and Joshua De Zenea; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Eric lived in Edinburg all of his life and was a member at The Family Church in McAllen. He graduated from Edinburg High School in 2012 and played football and baseball for the “BOBCATS”. He was even voted “Most likely to make you LOL”. Nobody can forget his dimple and Colgate SMILE! He was attending The University of Texas Pan American where he was a sophomore studying kinesiology. Eric also worked at Peter Piper Pizza in Edinburg where he brought many smiles and laughter to children and young adults. His smile would brighten any room he walked in and his charisma carried him everywhere he went. He touched many lives and will be missed by all those who knew him, and will never be forgotten.
The Davila family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian services will be at 10:30 a.m. at The Family Church, 2322 North McColl Road in McAllen. Family and friends are encouraged to wear Red and Blue in memory of Eric. In lieu of flowers the family ask that money be sent to his mom, 1023 Tanglewood Drive, Edinburg, Texas 78539 as they prepare to make a scholarship fund account in Eric’s memory. Having the distiguished honor to serve as ballbearers will be Luciano Peralta, Anthony De La Vina, Benito Elizondo, Eric Ortiz, Jacob Davila, and Angel Rodriguez. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
