Edinburg — Eufrosina “Ama” Arteaga, 86, entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. She was born on Thursday, March 30, 1929 in Lourdes, Gto., Mexico to Margarito Rojas and Lucia Alvarado Rojas. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Geronimo Arteaga, Sr., sons; Manuel and Fortunato Arteaga, brother; Forencio Rojas, sisters; Paula (Agustin) Tovar, Florentina (Pablo) Huerta and Transito (Ismael) Salazar. Left to cherish her memories are her children; Domingo Arteaga, Felipe (Juanita) Arteaga, Bernardo (Julia) Arteaga, Alejandro (Natividad) Arteaga, Geronimo (Laurie) Arteaga, Jr., Martin Arteaga, Juan Diego Arteaga, Patricia Rodriguez, and Dora (Jaime) Arevalo, Sr., daughters-in-law; Maria and Nohemi Arteaga, sisters; Nieves (Macedonio) Mendez and Eufemia (Crisoforo) Luna, 23 – grandchildren, 33 – great grandchildren, 2 – great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of Templo Emanuel Pentecostes church in Alamo, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a faithful servant to God. She was a great example of faith to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. She leaves a void in her families “Hearts”, but her legacy will live on in their memories. Her family will receive family and friends, today, November 24, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Templo Emanuel Pentecostes church, 1330 Felix Drive in Alamo. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be her sons; Felipe, Alejandro, Juan Diego, Geronimo, Jr., Domingo, Bernardo and Martin “Cookie” Arteaga. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
