Everardo "Eve" Abrego entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. He was born on Wednesday, June 11, 1952 in La Paloma, Cameron County, Texas to Jesus Abrego and Delia Ysasi Abrego. He is preceded in death by his father and sister; Sylvia Abrego.
Eve is survived by his wife of 31 years; Dalinda V. Abrego, son; Joshua (Xavier Garcia) Paul, daughter; Stephanie Lynn Abrego, granddaughters; Destinee Lumberas and Alexis "Little Red" Cordle, mother; Delia Abrego, siblings; Magdalena (Hector) De Leon, Jesus (Marilyn) Abrego, II, Juanita Sylvia (Carlos) Araiza, Samuel (Nelda) Abrego, Carmen (Jaime) Martinez, Abelardo (Emma) Abrego, Rosalinda (Adolfo) Luna, Enrique (Ester) Abrego and Graciela (Chester) Grimes, numerous nieces and nephews.
Eve received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from UCLA in 1980. He was a very successful and hardworking attorney who always did his best to serve others. He never gave up on anything in his life. He was a very humble man who was very kind, full of love and faith. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed all sports, especially football and basketball. He enjoyed cruising in his cars or trucks just listening to 70's music on the radio. He also loved to travel, especially visiting the state of Idaho because of its peaceful sceneries. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, and attorney. He was a teacher, an inspiration to many, the patriarch of his family, a jokester and a fighter. He will truly be missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched, but his legacy and memories will live on through his family and friends.
The Abrego family will receive friends today, Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3605 N. Taylor Road in McAllen. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
