Faustina C. January, 93, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 17, 2010 at her residence in Edinburg. She was born on February 15, 1917 in El Sabino Ranch, Rio Rico, Mexico to Benigno Cadena and Teodora Benitz.
She is survived by her sons, Lucio (Annabela) January Jr and Ernest (Janie) January; daughters, Sylvia De La Rosa, Manuela (Domingo Jr.) Palomo, Mary Lou (Timoteo) Flores, Elizabeth (Refugio Sr.) Munoz and Teodora (Sonny) Salinas; brother, Heriberto Cadena; sisters, Viviana Rios and Nieves Ruiz; 25 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Faustina is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lucio F. Garcia Sr.; son-in-law, Jose Homero; brother, Encarnacion Cadena; and sisters, Santos Escalon, Inocencia Guazman; and Teodora Cadena.
Faustina loved cooking. Her favorite dishes were Enchiladas, Tamales, and Menudo. She enjoyed reading and had a strong Christian faith. Her greatest heritage was the passing the word of GOD to her children and grandchildren. However; her greatest memories were seeing all her family united. She will truly be missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Visitation for Faustina January will be held today, May 19, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Family Chapel at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg with a Prayer Service held at 7:30 p.m. Christian services will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Family Chapel at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
