Flora C. Calvillo

Flora C. Calvillo, 97, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation in Edinburg, Texas. She was born on a Tuesday, September 6, 1927 in Edinburg, Texas to Isidro Cuellar and Elvira Tovar Cuellar. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; Raul Calvillo, sons; Rudy Calvillo and Guadalupe Calvillo, daughter in law; Mary Calvillo and brothers; Alberto Cuellar and Raul Santiago Alvarez.

Flora is survived by her loving children; Omar (Alicia) Calvillo, Belinda (Herminio) Castaneda, Robert “Robbie” (Ana) Rene Calvillo, 9 Grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She was known to be a hard worker, working at Haggars Clothing for 30 years. She enjoyed getting her hair done at Alma’s Hair Salon. She enjoyed sewing and baked cookies for her loving family, doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren whenever she possibly could.

The Calvillo Family will receive friends on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Viewing will continue on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Direct Graveside Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3611 North Taylor Road, Mission, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Jon Hernandez, Jennifer Lozano, Herman Castaneda, Lauren Ortiz.  Ryan Calvillo and Omar Calvillo. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director/Manager and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
