Florencia L. Badillo, 75, entered eternal rest on September 2, 2010 at Life Care Hospital North in McAllen. She was born on October 26, 1934 in New Braunfels, Texas to Gabino Lopez and Julia Ortiz.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son; Alejandro Badillo, Sr., brothers; Domingo, Zaragosa and Rumaldo Lopez, sisters; Martgarita, Andrea, Dominga, Fidencia, Magdalena, Norberta and Juanita Lopez.
Florencia is survived by her husband of 56 years; Francisco Z. Badillo, Sr., sons; Frank (Maria) Badillo, Jr., Rogelio Badillo, Ricardo Badillo, Daniel (Maribel) Badillo, Sr., daughters; Hermelinda Garza, Yolanda (Lenny) Burr, Maggie (Marty) Stephen, Diana Badillo, Delia (Jose Luis Gomez) Badillo, brother; Perfecto Lopez, daughter-in-law; Gloria Badillo, 30 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Florencia loved spending time with her family. She dedicated her life to her family and church. She loved to dance, cook, garden, play lottery tickets and Bingo. She will truly be missed by all of her family and friends.
Visitation for Florencia was held on Sunday, September 5, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg with a rosary held at 7:00 p.m. Christian services were held Monday, September 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial followed to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg
