Florencio “Lencho” Garcia, 90, entered eternal rest on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Edinburg. He was born on April 19, 1924 in Edinburg, TX to Florentino Garcia, Sr. and Luisa Muniz Garcia. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dominga Coronado Garcia; his parents; son, Jose Alvino Garcia; 2-brothers and 3- sisters.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving sons, Juan Florencio (Odilia) Garcia and Alfonso Alejos Garcia; brothers, Blas and Florentino Garcia, Jr.; sister, Clara Rodriguez; 8 – grandchildren; 10 – great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Lencho was mechanical incline who loved to work and fix cars. He was very playful and had a great sense of humor. His greatest joy was spending time at home with his family. He will truly be missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched. The family would like to say “Thank You” to his caregiver; Concepcion “Conchita” Tamez for all the years that she took care of their Dad and Mom. He is now reunited with his loving wife and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hands.
The Garcia family will receive friends today, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg, Texas. Christian Mass will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
