Genara “La Tia Genara/Madrina” Rosales, 95, entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Retama Manor Nursing Home in Edinburg. She was born on Monday, September 19, 1921 to Valentin Rosales and Wenceslada Munoz, in Orange Grove, Texas. Genara is preceded in death by her parents, son; Eusebio Modesto, brother; Gerardo (Guadalupe) Garza, sisters; Flavia Rosales and Maria Concepcion Rosales, brother-in-law; Pedro Garza.
Left to cherish her memories is her sisters; Lucia Garza, Telesfora Esperiqueta and Flora Montemayor, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Tia Genara was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church was a member of the Guadalupanas. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, listening to old music, but most of all spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Dr. Linda Villarreal for all the care and attention she provided for Tia Genara.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg.
Catholic Mass will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 East Champion Street in Edinburg, Texas. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Abel Garza, Andres Garza, Octaviano Garza, Mario Garza, Juan Garza and Roel Flores. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
