Genaro M. Rodriguez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed to be with God on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg at the age of 86 years. He was born on Tuesday, December 2, 1930 in La Pesca Villa De Guadalupe, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Carlos Rodriguez and Ramona Moreno Rodriguez. He is reunited with his parents and son; Carlos Rodriguez.
Genaro is survived by his loving wife of 67 years; Emilia C. Rodriguez, children; Rosendo (Delia) Rodriguez, Fernando (Gloria) Rodriguez, Anna Maria (Jose Luis) Cisneros, Alicia (Eduardo) Guerra, Senaida (Daniel) Ayala, Rogelio Rodriguez, Sonia (Porfirio) Aguilar and Leonardo Rodriguez, sisters; Flora Rodriguez, Josefa "Chepa" Rodriguez and Matiana Rodriguez, brother; Roman Rodriguez, 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Genaro was employed at Cactus Iron Works for over 35 years and worked for Jack Wallace Farms, Inc. for 10 years. Genaro was a strong and loving man who will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched, but he will forever be cherished.
His family received friends on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be celebrated today, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3601 North Taylor Road in McAllen. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Fernando Rodriguez, Rogelio Rodriguez, Rosendo Rodriguez, Antonio "Tony" Cisneros, Eduardo Guerra, Jr., Adan "Biggie" Espino, II and Rogelio "Royio" Rodriguez, Jr. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
