Gilberto “Gill” Rodriguez, 48, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. He was born September 7, 1962 in Edinburg, Texas to Jose Maria Rodriguez and Mercedes Melchor- Rodriguez.
Mr. Rodriguez is preceded in death by his father and his beloved niece; Mercedes Isabel Caballero.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, brothers; Eduardo (Irma) Rodriguez, Rolando Rodriguez, Jesus (Norma) Rodriguez, Humberto (Veronica) Rodriguez, sisters; Sylvia Rodriguez, Olga (Marco Antonio) Caballero, Patricia Buentello and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rodriguez graduated from Edinburg High School in 1982. He worked for Fields Fruits and Gardens for 14 years and Amigos Fruit Stand for 11 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also loved to play poker. He will truly be missed by all of his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
The Rodriguez Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian mass will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services were entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
