EDINBURG- Guillermo “Willie” Daniel Gonzalez, 77, entered into eternal rest on November 19, 2013 at Retama Manor Nursing Center in Edinburg, TX. He was born to Emerico Gonzalez and Maclovia Gonzalez on July 11, 1936 in Laredo, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Emerico (Nora (+)) Gonzalez, Jr. and Jorge Oscar Gonzalez; Sisters, Emma Leonor (Hollis (+)) Mauck and Gloria Hilda Blanco; Brothers-in-law, Joe Perez and Willie Self.
He is survived by his Sisters, Ninfa Irma Gonzalez Longoria, Ana Maclovia Gonzalez Perez and Eva Yolanda Self; numerous nieces and nephews.
Willie enlisted in the Army for two tours and served during the Korean War as a Paratrooper/Infantry. His family would like to give a heartfelt “Thank You” to the caring staff and nurses at Retama Manor Nursing Center in Edinburg. He will truly be missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
The Gonzalez Family received friends today, Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Laredo, TX. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be his nephews, David Perez, Michael Perez, Rolando Perez, Emerson Mauck, Joe Perez, Jr., and John F. Perez. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
