As we age and times change, transitions come at different parts of our lives. We transition from being born to walking and talking to going to school and living life. Life will give us many ups and downs, left and right turns. This can be said about Hilda, she did all this one day at a time and one step at a time. Hard times and good times came and left but she endured them and embraced them for what they were. Along the way she taught many students and changed their lives forever. Her mark on this earth will always be in the hearts and minds of the people she touched. She will always live somewhere with us and her spirit will always be around. Although she will be missed she will not be forgotten, for she was a light when many thought they had none.
She worked for the San Isidro ISD, Weslaco ISD, Donna ISD and Edcouch-Elsa ISD for many years as an educator. She enjoyed volunteering her time at McAllen General Hospital as a candy striper, working the phones at the Easter Seals telethon and a church coordinator at Santa Cruz Catholic Church. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, dancing, gambling, playing scratch off tickets, but most importantly she was a giving person with a big heart.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg.
