Hugo Garcia, 68, entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at his residence in Edinburg, Texas. He was born on a Thursday, November 10, 1955 in San Antonio, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Pedro Garcia and Constancia Lopez Garcia. Hugo is preceded in death by his parents and son; Victor Garcia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Evangelina P. Garcia, daughter; Delilah (Omar Mancilla) Garcia, granddaughter; Alessandra Mancilla, siblings; Sylvia de la Rosa, Saul Garcia, Velia Landry, Sonia Marin, Susie Casas, Analilah Garcia and Pedro Garcia, Jr. as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Hugo was a Veteran who proudly served his country with the United States Marines, where he was awarded the Rifle Expert Badge, Pistol Sharpshooter Badge and the National Defense Service Medal. He worked for VFW Construction, loved being in the outdoors and around nature. His biggest pleasure was spending time with his family and playing with his granddaughter. He will be deeply missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.

The Garcia family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral Mass to be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Burial to follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Road in Mission. Military honors for Hugo will be provided by VFW #8788 of McAllen, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director/Manager and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
