EDINBURG — Ines Carranza, 83, entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at her daughter’s residence with her family surrounding her. She was born on November 16, 1930 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Manuel Maldonado and Elena Patiño Maldonado. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Froylan Carranza, Sr.; grandson, Romeo Moreno and son-in-law, Vicente Hernandez.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Jose Luis (Amalia) Carranza, Froylan (Sylvia) Carranza, Jose Guadalupe (Noelia) Carranza, Juan Manuel (Mari) Carranza, Miguel (Olga) Carranza, Martin (Elizabeth) Carranza, Maria Juanita Hernandez, Maricela (Jose)Moreno, Maria Consuelo (Roel) Vela and Celia Zamarron, 22 – grandchildren, 33 – great grandchildren, 1 –great great granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Carranza lived in Edinburg most of her life. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. She had a contagious smile that would brighten any room. She was a member of the Guadalupanas. She will truly be missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched, but her legacy will continue in the hearts of her family.
The Carranza family will receive friends and family today, Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Christian Mass will be held Monday, January 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be her sons, Jose Luis, Froyan, Jr., Jose Guadalupe, Juan Manuel, Miguel and Martin Carranza. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
