Juan Jeronimo Lopez, 94, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. He was born May 11, 1917 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico to Ignacio Lopez and Isabel Sanchez Lopez, but lived in Edinburg for most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 36 years; Paula Martinez Lopez, son; David Hernandez, sisters; Juanita Lopez and Andrea Alvarez.
Left to cherish his memories are his sons; Gerardo Hernandez, Jose Hernandez, Isaias (Rosa) Hernandez, Alberto Hernandez, Santos Hernandez, daughters; Dominga (Esteban) Cano, Anita Marquez, Dolores Garcia, daughter-in-law; Juanita Hernandez, sister; Leonor Lopez, 26 - grandchildren, 40 - great-grandchildren, and 26 - great-great grandchildren.
Juan and his wife had a sell/trade business for many years. He enjoyed gardening, reading and was self educated. He was a compassionate man and very devoted to his wife. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He will truly be missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched, but we know that he is now in Heaven with our Mom.
The Lopez family will receive friends today, September 14, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A Christian service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, with Chaplain Oscar Garcia officiating. Christian burial will follow to Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
