Jose Rogerio "Roy" Espericueta, 85, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. He was born on Monday, May 09, 1932 in La Grulla, Texas to Miguel Espericueta and Jesusa Solis Espericueta. He is preceded in death by his parents; son; Rolando Espericueta, daughter; Sylvia Flores, grandson; Joseph Thomas Flores and son-in-law; Hernan Gorena.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 64 years; Beatriz Z. Espericueta, sons; Jose Luis (Martha) Espericueta, Leroy (Frances) Espericueta, Homer (Brigette) Espericueta, Fernando (Carmen) Espericueta, Noel (Ester) Espericueta, Dina (Fidel, III) Perez, Elma (Adrian) Esparza, Linda (Daniel) Hernandez, Edna Gorena, and Dolores (David) Anzaldua, daughter-in-law; Elizabeth Espericueta-Camarillo, son-in-law; Carlos Flores, 38 - grandchildren, 29 - great grandchildren, and 1 - great great grandchildren.
Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He lived in Edinburg and was a member of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church. He worked for Mission Paving Company for over 25 years until his retirement. He was a jack of all traits and enjoyed fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
The Espericueta Family will receive family and friends on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a celebration of his life to be held at 7:00 p.m. at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, 705 East University Drive, Edinburg, Texas. Graveside services with Military honors will be held on Tuesday, May 01, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Road, Mission, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
