Jose Garcia

Jose Garcia, 91, entered eternal rest on Friday, July 10, 2015 at his residence in Edinburg with his family surrounding him by his bedside. He was born on March 6, 1924 in Rancho Esperanza, N.L., Mexico to Isaac Garcia and Felicitas Sendejas. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolina De La Cruz Garcia; grandchildren, Jesus Francisco Garza, Jose Federico Garza, Jr., Jose Fernando Garza and Jose Rodolfo Garza; son-in-law, Jose Federico Garza, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Delia Garcia, 3 – brothers and 2 – sisters.
Jose is survived by his sons, Isaias, Ernesto and Leroy Garcia; daughters, Yolanda (Fermin) Ruiz, Olga (Jose) Rodriguez, Dalia (Jose Manuel, Sr.) Nava, Norma (Juan Carlos) Garza Alvarado; 2 – brothers; 4 – sisters; 22 – grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Jose owned Garcia Nursery in Edinburg for many years, he was known for his “green thumb”. He was a very hardworker who did farming and enjoyed being in the outdoors. He loved to dance and enjoy life to the fullest. He was known to his children as being firm and a great provider for his family.
His family will receive friends, today, Monday, July 13, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Isaias Garcia, Ernesto Garcia, Leroy Garcia, Jose Manuel Nava, Jr., David Garcia and Erasmo Nava. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
