Jose "Joe" G. Gomez, 74, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at his residence in Edinburg. He was born on Saturday, March 6, 1943 in Odem, Texas to Juan Gomez and Nasaria Gonzalez. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Joe is survived by his wife of 51 years; Juanita Gomez, children; Agustine (Lucy) Gomez, Teodosio (Angela) Gomez, Jose Luis (Martha) Gomez, Juan Francisco (Claire) Gomez, David (Eileen) Gomez, Nazaria (Eleuterio, Jr.) Diaz and Priscella (Ben) Maldonado, 17 - grandchildren, 1 - great grandchild, brother; Juan Gomez, sister; Aurora Garcia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Friday, December 22, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Augustine Gomez, Teodosio Gomez, Jose Luis Gomez, Juan Francisco Gomez, David Gomez, and Eluterio Diaz, Jr. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
