Edinburg- Jose “Pepe” Fidel Hernandez, 62, entered into eternal rest on October 11, 2013 in Edinburg, TX. He was born to Genaro Hernandez and Eloisa Garcia on August 27, 1951 in Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Romualdo and Fidel Hernandez and sister, Rosenda Gonzales.
He is survived by his loving family; wife of 43 years, San Juana Rodriguez Hernandez; sons, Jose Fidel (Letty) Hernandez Jr., Juan Miguel (Jessica) Hernandez and Genaro (Cris) Hernandez; daughters, Mariana (Vicente) Cabrera, Judith (Rene) Reyna, Alicia Aleman, Aurora (Max) Saenz and Rosenda (Abe) Gonzales; brothers, Catarino Hernandez, Camarino Hernandez and Felipe Hernandez; Sisters, Margarita Garza, Carlota Salinas and Navora Vasquez; 16 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He loved to collect remote control toys and to be outdoors. He enjoyed dancing, listening to music and fishing, but his greatest passion was spending time with his family. He was a very outgoing and loving person. He was a Heavy machine operator who worked hard to provide for his family. He will truly be missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
Visitation will held today, Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A Christian Mass will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Jose Fidel Hernandez, Jr., Juan Miguel Hernandez, Genaro Hernandez, Eleazar Hernandez, Romualdo Hernandez and Hugo Hernandez. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
