Jose Maria "La Chiva" Lopez, 72, entered into eternal rest on May 16, 2012 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. He was born February 11, 1940 in Edinburg, Texas to Jose V. Lopez and Adela Garcia.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife; Irma Lopez, sons; Leonel (Miriam) Lopez and Jose Luis (Angie) Lopez, brother; Francisco Lopez, sisters; Olivia Medellin and Amalia Garcia, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
The Lopez Family received friends on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A Christian Mass will be held today, Monday, May 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Funeral services were entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
