Jose Jesus Munoz

Jose Jesus Munoz, 53, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Solara Specialty Hospital in McAllen surrounded by his family. He was born on Monday, December 25, 1967 in Edinburg, Texas to Romaldo Munoz and Consuelo Vasquez. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Adan Munoz.

Jose is survived by his loving wife of 24 years; Esmeralda Munoz, children; Jose Jesus Munoz, Jr. and Javier Francisco Munoz, brothers; Jose Guadalupe (Belma) Munoz, Bentura (Maria Elena) Munoz, Gustavo (Martha) Munoz, Rumaldo Munoz, Jr, Jorge (Cynthia) Munoz and Roberto (Carol) Munoz and a sister, Rosalinda Munoz. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Jose lived in Edinburg most of his life and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Jose served proudly in the United States Marine Corps and worked for Good Year and Hidalgo County, Precint 4 for many years. Jose was a humble and hard working who enjoyed spending time with his family, reading Louis L’Amour books and satisfying his sweet tooth with an occasional pecan pie.

The Munoz family will receive friends on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg, Texas. Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Holy Family Church, 1302 E. Champion Street in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Jose Munoz, Javier Munoz, Gustavo Munoz, Jose Guadalupe Munoz, Jorge Munoz and Juan Moreno, Jr. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
