Jose Rivas Flores, 103, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. He was born on December 24, 1906 in Los Ebanos, Texas to Lucio Flores and Angelita Rivas.
He is survived by his sons; Guadalupe (Lucia G) Flores, Baldemar (Carolina P) Flores, and Eustolio Flores, daughters; Beatriz Gonzalez and Enedina (Gustavo) Casas, 31 grandchildren, daughter-in-law; Engracia Flores, son-in-law; Alberto Amador.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents, wife Josefa Pena Flores, son, Jose Flores, daughter; Beatrice Gonzalez, and sisters Concepcion Flores and Santos Flores.
He lived in Edinburg since 1942 and had a strong faith in GOD. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg, with a rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. Christian services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home
