Josefina “Fina” S. Lopez, 72, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. She was born on Tuesday, November 03, 1942 in Hargill, Texas to Felipe Solis and Ofelia Flores Solis. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister; Eufelia Solis and brother in law; Guadalupe Cantu, Sr.
Fina is survived by her loving husband of 50 years; Oliverio Lopez, Sr., daughters; Dora (Ricardo, Sr.) Ramos and Sandra (James) Flores, sons; Oliverio (Cynthina) Lopez, Jr. and Jorge (Aracely) Lopez, sisters; Eva (Rene) Salinas, Ninfa (Ramiro, Sr.) Santos and Berta Cantu, grandchildren; Mindy Ramos, Brenda Lynn Flores, Ricardo Ramos, Jr., Josie Marie Garcia, Ashley Marie Ramos, Gabriella Lopez, Oliver Lopez, Rebecca Lopez and Kaitlyn Lopez, great grandchildren; Hailey Trevino and Emmalyn Trevino, numerous nieces and nephews.
Fina lived in Edinburg all of her life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Guadalupana Society for many years. She enjoyed sewing and volunteering her time at church. She instilled great values and faith to her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family will receive friends today, Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 501 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Funeral Director/Manager of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
